FDD Development

FDD majorly contributed to by Jeff De Luca and Peter Coad brings wonderful and much needed methodology to the development world. This approach to development has five basic milestones, therefore streamlining the development process.

  • Phase 1: Implements a collaboration method that involves both the team and client. Definately an effective brainstorming technique that utilizes an iterative approach and is more than capable of developing an overall model of an entire domain.

  • Phase 2: Internal processes are the head of the second stage. The Chief Programmers work to develope the features list using the client's language, using an action, result approach.

  • Phase 3: The Project Manager comes into play during this stage. Working together with the Development Manager and Chief Programmer we bring order to the development of your project and create strategies for delivering results.

  • Phase 4: At this point we design and inspect the design in detail by breaking down the design in meaningful terms, by feature. After inspection of the design is complete, then it's off to the fun stuff, the coding.

  • Phase 5: The final phase is eloquently described as, "a per feature activity to produce a completed client-valued function." We couldn't have said it better! The three steps implemented here are code, the code inspection, from there we promote to build or in other words, it's completed!

Projects in Development Using FDD Methodology

Our first project in development using the FDD methodolgy involves an HOA community in Los Angeles, CA. This community has approved to hire Revision Technology to build a solution for tracking HOA dues, where they are being applied specifically, The pool fees, trash, community electric, just to name a few on a to date basis. They are also hopiing to achieve better communication with the HOA president throgh an online community forum to post issues handled by the association, post meeting details, and a post moderator to keep everything tidy. Other aspects of this project include a payment gateway for processing dues, downloadable pdf version of HOA invoices and receipts, common grounds maintenace reporting, and finally a community news blog. Content for the community news blog maintained by sixteen year old aspiring writer :-)

Keep track of this project: (ETD 7months) at our blog here.
